sympathy for the devil. [Nov. 7th, 2005|02:51 pm]
ode to 60's prague
friday night, we could hear the rolling stones from our back porch.
not someone playing the rolling stones.
the rolling stones.
it was pretty amazing

I'm listening to Otis right now
may he rest in peace

I'm puppy-sitting in a few minutes
I offered
I am "pet deprived"
I am going to show my boyfriend how responsible & great I am.
& then beg mercilessly for a small, apartment friendly dog.
(sidenote: I have already done this. repeatedly. he is functioning as "the sensible one" in this ongoing dilemma.)

recently:
-watched "Don Juan" & was sadly disappointed by Bardot's hard miles accumulated by '73 & also by the blatant lack of sex & nudity. however, the suicide scene was hilarious.
-cried over an exam score. my rationalism & empiricism professor has now given me a distaste for the british. he is very, very british.

next on my list: visiting the nearest pumpkin patch.

a hate so big. [Oct. 10th, 2005|03:21 pm]

it's not so much that i minded working midnight to 8am this morning
perhaps it's the fact that my coworker cockblocked the cd player
and filled it with CREED

which made me wish for the sweet release of death

tastes like magic. [Oct. 2nd, 2005|10:03 pm]
ode to 60's prague
[music |lift your skinny fists like antennas to heaven]

I'm drinking formula 50 (uh)
vitamin water (uh)
created by fifty himself.
It can only be described as grape flavored children's chewable tylenol.
I'm still impressed.

I should just convert this into a journal of my blatant consumerism./ too late

I'm in the middle of reading Henry & June
I love it

I think I'm going to be Anais Nin for Halloween.

you make me feel like [Sep. 19th, 2005|04:07 pm]
ode to 60's prague
I had to wake up at 2 am this morning for work
& believe you me I was not happy
I got off at 11
but still haven't slept
I have, however, dyed my hair
which may haunt me later
you know, the lack of sleep & all.

I have my first exam of the semester tomorrow
but I would rather just think about the season premiere of arrested development tonight. how telling

school started last week:

the structure of modern english
rationalism & empiricism
shakespeare
the development of the english novel through austen

i'm fairly ambivalent at this point.

in other news:
it's hot. really hot.
as in the weather, as in this apartment.

speaking of which:

(insert masturbatory bookshelf photo here)

the irony is not lost on me [Aug. 2nd, 2005|04:10 pm]
ode to 60's prague
there hasn't been internet access at the house for about 3 weeks
which in some respects gives me the shakes like a stage 3 alcoholic
but mostly it's kind of nice because the internet sucks out my soul.

right now i'm using my parent's computer
which is so slow I could read gravity's rainbow
while attempting to google something

it was pointed out to me this weekend that my dad drives around
with a sleater-kinney sticker on his car because he sometimes drives my 61 falcon.
(sadly, i don't)
also noteworthy: his half-hearted attempt to scrape off the few decals that i placed on the car when i was sixteen left him with "ixies" & "awbreaker" on it as well.

we moved
& it's bizarre feeling kind of sort of but not really grown-up
(...types the girl doing laundry at her parents house.)
